Tokyo, located in the heart of the Kanto Plain, enjoys an early cherry blossom season due to the urban heat island effect. The iconic Somei Yoshino typically blooms from late March to early April, attracting throngs of travelers during its brief two-week flowering period.

Ueno Onshi Park, home to around 1,200 Somei Yoshino trees, has been a renowned cherry blossom viewing spot since the Edo period.
